Key Responsibilities:
Operational:
Oversee all accounting operations and ensure accuracy and compliance
Ensure application of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in preparation of journal entries and maintaining the GL
Ensure adequate recording of financial transactions along with proof of execution/payment with vendors to accurately record revenue/costs
Oversee efficient entry for payroll, salaries, benefits, and pensions payments into the accounting system for reporting purposes
Oversee reporting and ensure development in accordance with standard forms to enable the proper assessment and financial control
Manage escalated complex problems efficiently and in a timely manner
Ensure coordination with the Treasury and Budget department to develop financial statements by providing timely and accurate GL and journal entries
Budget & Reporting:
Oversee department expenditures, budgeting process, tracking and reporting
Oversee required contract development and negotiations for service providers/contractors in their own area
Ensure effective reporting to the Chief and represent the department in internal and external meetings
People & Talent:
Foster ethical and responsible decision making by direct reports
Support in recruiting talents as required
Establish a high-performing, future-focused and proactive team ensuring that they are highly motivated, engaged and have a framework to perform at their best
Conduct appraisal and review processes with direct reports and provide regular feedback
Ensure professional development needs are fulfilled
Required Qualifications:
Ability to undertake strategic thinking and application in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
Excellent project management, organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Ability to effectively allocate and utilize financial and non-financial resources
Ability to lead and supervise teams to inspire direction and purpose (including managing performance and workload allocation)
The collaborative mindset with the ability to work with peers on joint projects and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals
Excellent verbal and written communication
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Excellent analytical skills and a high level of numeracy
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is desirable
A professional industry-recognized qualification such as CPA or equivalent is desirable
15+ years of professional experience in Accounting in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in a leading organization
Demonstrated success in building and managing a team
KSA industry experience is desirable
